Introduction to Positive Activities
Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky studies the kinds of behaviors that can increase well-being. Her research shows that “positive activities” such as committing acts of kindness, counting your blessings, living life like it’s your last month, acting more extroverted, writing letters of gratitude, visualizing your best possible future, affirming your most important values, and savoring and replaying happy days increases individuals’ happiness. Her research also shows why these activities increase our happiness, and the circumstances in which they are most effective.
