I am looking for four new undergraduate students to start research with me this summer (June 2022). This research will be lab-based where we will investigate the geohistorical record of Conesus Lake from lake cores collected from last field season. We will be using fossils as proxies and archives of past environmental change. Research will involve microscopy and high-precision analytical techniques to uncover the past 300-400 years of change in the lake captured by the phytoplankton and invertebrates living in the lake.
